The 60/30/20 Rule for Successful Postcard Marketing

I’ve done extensive postcard marketing campaigns over the years.

Always remember the 60/30/20 rule.

The success of your postcard campaign will depend on…

60% – your list
30% – your offer
10% – your creative

I’ve increased my postcard response rates by over 50% using PURL
campaigns that were talked about earlier in this thread.

In fact, I wouldn’t do a postcard marketing campaign without using PURLs.

I’ve created a brief training video about it at my site www.MarketingBestPractices.com
(when you log in search for “How to Get 50% Plus Response Rates with Simple Postcard Campaigns”

Postcard campaigns are great if you have higher up front commissions
or if you have an established MLM and have enough residuals to invest
in offline mailing campaigns.

Again, make sure you’re sending it to a qualified list. That’s the key.

Should You Teach Internet Marketing to New MLM Beginners?

Posted on: December 29, 2009

I’ve only got one question for those who claim that people
should teach internet marketing to their new distributors.

Have any of you built an organization of over 5,000 people
in a TRADITIONAL MLM teaching internet marketing to
your team?

Probably not.

I’m not talking a top tier company or an internet-based
company like the new GVO.

I’m talking a traditional MLM company like Monavie, Agel,
Herbalife, Arbonne or Shaklee?

If you have, you’ll find out very quickly that teaching internet
marketing to new people will be your death nail.

You will NEVER build a big team if you start teaching internet
marketing to brand new people. Period.

The way large MLM organizations are built is through “blood lines.”

Through people talking to people that they already know.

Here’s an excerpt from a newsletter send out from the # 1 money
earner in our company. The guy makes over $130,000 a month
and rarely touches the internet.

SIMPLICITY – A key to fast growth in your business. You must
have a clear and simple message that can be communicated with ease. Apply the 8 year old test. If an 8 year old can’t teach it and do it now, then don’t do it. It may be good for you, but it generally won’t travel well. I was having a discussion today with a distributor and we were talking about Simplicity. I asked him, what is the #1 reason why you must keep your message clear simple and short? I’ll ask you the same question . . .

People are busy and for the most part their lives are complicated. A clear, simple and concise message lands well and travels well. Most of all, people say, ‘I can do that!’. So I have someone take out a sheet of paper and I ask them to write out 3 things . . . and then I say. ‘Do you think you can do these things every day? That’s all we do!’ And they say to themselves, ‘I can do that!’

This business is all about duplication!

The only way you’ll get to the top of your pay plan is if you teach
activities are duplicable to the masses.

The moment you introduce something that’s complex, people
will get confused, frustrated, shut down and quit.

If you’re in a traditional MLM company and you want to
make over 5 figures a month, you need be teaching your new
distributors to reach out to their warm market. Period.

What attributes should I look for in a potential MLM sponsor?

Here are some criteria that I would use to choose a sponsor if I was signing up with a new company.

1. Someone who is working the business full time

2. Someone who does NOT focus so heavily on the money but is a true believer in the product.

3. Some who you can get access to in a timely manner.

4. Someone who is a good question asker and a great listener.

5. Someone is already very successful in the business.

6. Someone who works the business in a way that resonates with you.

7. Someone whose personality attracts you.

BUT, in the end, with all that said – - it really doesn’t matter who your sponsor is.

Successful people will always be successful, no matter what they do. If you’re a successful person, you’ll do what it takes to be successful whether you have upline help or not.

My top leaders haven’t needed much help from me at all.

Something to think about.

All the best.

What is the #1 thing holding you back in your MLM business?

Is proper training the #1 thing that holds
people back in their MLM business?

There’s tons of free MLM training
information on the net and within
your company.

If information was the answer then
why aren’t we all MLM superstars.

I would probably say that most people’s
#1 obstacle is that they don’t have
a big enough “why.”

If you have a big enough why, you’ll
do ANYTHING.

Think about it, if your 5 year old daughter
was in danger, what wouldn’t you do to
help her?

You would do anything and everything!

You would bother any and all your friends
and family members if you knew it would
help her.

Great things all start with a DREAM and a
REASON for doing them.

That reason will lead you to action and action
will lead you to success.

So the most important thing you can do for
your new and existing distributors is to help
them discover their “why” for doing the business.

Hope this helps.

Are You Experiencing Frustration In Your MLM? Here’s the Reason.

Posted on: November 17, 2009

ALL FRUSTRATION COMES FROM ONE THING AND ONE THING ONLY!

And it is…

“UNMET EXPECTATIONS”

Think about it.

Every frustration you have in your life comes from expecting one
thing and getting another.

So you either have to…

1. Lower your expectations

or…

2. Meet your expectations

You can lower your expectations by understanding the path to success
is riddled with potholes, sinkholes, and broken bridges.

And it’s up to you to…

1. Not freak out when you get to a pothole, sinkhole or broken bridge
and understand that they are part of the success process.

2. Find a way to get around the holes and find alternative ways to cross
the bridges to get to the other side.

3. Have a long term vision of your future and a short term vision of
how to get there.

Hope this helps.

Which is Better, Online MLM Recruiting or Offline MLM Recruiting

Posted on: November 13, 2009

There are a lot of extreme opinions on this.

The exclusive offline MLM people say that it’s the only way.

The exclusive online MLM people say it’s crazy to do stuff totally offline.

They say it’s “old school” MLM.

___________________________

But Here’s the Catch…
___________________________

The exclusive online people will say that online MLM prospecting is “successful”
but they’ve only been doing it for a few months or less than a year.

My beef with that is that, Yes, they can successfully recruit.

But recruiting and building a large MLM duplicating team is two very different things!

______________________________

It’s Been My Experience…
______________________________

…that most people who come to you from the online world don’t stick
because they end up getting seduced with other internet marketing
business opportunities.

With that said, many new offline distributors, drop out as well. But
they seem to have a much much better stick rate than new online MLM distributors.

_______________________

Here’s the Real Key…
_______________________

New MLM distributors, whether they come from the online world or the offline
world, need two things.

1. Early success

2. Community support

So the real key is to get them moving very quickly to sign up a few people
and then to get to a LIVE MLM event as soon as possible.

If you can do that, your attrition rate will drop like a rock and your stick
rate will skyrocket.

That’s been my experience.

All the best.
